COMMUNITY FILM NIGHTS - The recent acquisition of a new projector has revolutionised the way we can present things and also the activities we can do. One of the activities we have been enabled to start is a monthly community film night. The front garden of the church offices, which is next to the main road in Nyendo, is set up as an outdoor cinema, open to anyone and everyone to come and watch films with a message. These nights combine both secular and Christian films along with short talks, which can help bring a message of hope to the people of Nyendo.
SPORTS MINISTRY - Nelson Mandela said: "Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else can. It speaks to people in a language they understand." At River of Life Church we know the truth of this message: Sport is a powerful tool that can be used to link up and build relationships with, motivate, and bless a wide range of people in any setting and across the range of ages, sexes, races and beliefs. One of the main developments in this area has been the setting up of the
Confederations Cup of Masaka, a football competition now into its 3rd year. This year's cup involves 22 local youth teams consisting of over 350 players with fabulous prizes including topnotch trophies, goats and our main prize – Shabooboo the Cow. Being linked with so many local youth gives us plenty of opportunities to share the love of Christ with them.
