Crane Mail Dec 2008

Welcome to the new Crane Mail from River of Life Uganda! We're sending this to you because at some point in the last 15 years of River of Life you've expressed an interest in what we do, and now we've finally managed to start using email to keep you better informed!

So, please have a look at our latest newsletter, which many of you will have received in the post, but you can also download from the website. There's a few tasty morsels to whet your appetite below, but first an amazing opportunity to have your donation doubled! Read on...

Your Donation Doubled!Have your donation doubled!

Christmas really has (potentially) come early for us at River of Life, and it couldn't have come at a better time. The Big Give, a fundraising website, has given us an unprecedented opportunity to have every donation doubled! So if you were thinking of making a donation, or buying a gift from our Christmas catalogue (more about that below), you could make a donation through The Big Give and make your donation go twice as far! Here's how it will work:

From 9am on December 1st, there is £1 million available to the all the charities registered with The Big Give. Each donor can give up to £5,000 per charity, and each charity can receive £20,000, until the £1 million runs out - which will probably be very quickly!

You can find our Big Give page here, and you can find out more about the initiative here. If you are thinking of doing this, or want to talk to us about it, please just reply to this email!

River of Life Gift CertificateAlternative Christmas Gifts!

How about something a little different this Christmas?! Instead of buying Aunty Jo some bath smellies, do you think she might like a bag of cement? Or maybe a mosquito net?! River of Life Alternative Christmas Gift Catalogue is packed full of brilliant ideas for your Christmas presents this year. You get a beautiful certificate to give to the lucky recipient, and the knowledge that the gift is helping to transform the lives of the White Eagles! You can download the catalogue here.

And lastly, our latest newsletter is available from the website for download. It's packed full of news about progress on building the boys home; updates about the Mercy Missions, including saving the lives of some malnourished babies; and news about the Roots Ministry - a new initiative in the villages around Masaka helping to tackle the violence and abuse that is common in Ugandan communities.

Thank you for all your support and generosity, and God bless you!

With love from
Duncan & Mary
